I ran across this hunter 30 for sale that has a modern swimmer friendly transom retro-fitted. IMO not much compromise of the original classic lines. Has ayone else done one of these jobs? Most summer day sails, my boat serves as a flaoting pool deck, I'd like to look into doing a similar upgrade.

Scooped transom

There is a Cheribini 27' in Manatee Bay [above Key Largo] with a simular but not as neat job of fairing into the hull lines. Have no idea who or where the mod was done

Also check archives.

If you search for "transom" in the Forum Archives you should find some $$$ info. It has been a year or more since I saw that. I think it was an H34 and there should be pictures in the Photo Forum. $4000. sticks in my mind. The problem is that it takes a one-time mold, very expensive to build. If there was a large demand then the price could come down.

See DIY

DIY magazine had an article where someone added a "scoop" stern to a C&C or something similar. Don't remember the issue number, but they could tell you. It was a very clean job but looked a little odd. BTW, a great little magazine with some very ambitious boat owners (and a nice change from all the American-oriented [&/or British-oriented] boating magazines) (it's Canadian).
