Folks.. we’ve had this boat (and engine) for 5 yrs and it’s always started readily with a full throttle neutral setting.
The other day it caught instantly as usual but died after a couple of seconds and refused to fire again.
We determined that the electric fuel pump (replacing the engine driven feed pump) had failed. Replaced it and decided to change both fuel filters while we were at it. After filling secondary filter we experienced difficulty getting fuel up to injectors. It took an inordinate amount of time (yes RW valve shut) but I feel we got it - and still no joy.
Only a very wispy light smoke when cranking. No reason to think we’ve suddenly lost compression- it ran fine a week ago.
It’s almost acting like the fuel cutoff is engaged (it’s not externally ).Ideas??
