Does anyone have a source for styrofoam floatation blocks?

Ooops....specifically....

Looking for supplemental floatation for my Mac25. Some factory installed floatation blocks have deteriorated a bit, and others seem to have been removed. My philosophy is to stuff every unused bilge space full of 'em. I assume that dock-floats could be sawed and used, but I can only imagine how sawing that stuff would make your skin crawl. Would prefer blocks about 1 foot square by 6" thick. Will look at Defender. Thanks.

Hot Wire

Check your local plastics seller for a "hotwire"saw or research how to make your own. Makescutting foam easy. Have you thought about thetwo part stuff you pour in the space and letit expand to fill?

Maybe not blocks

Consider two part liqiud foam, It will instanly conform to any space (no wasted floatation) and only takes minutes. You will have to find someone with the equipment, like a pakaging facility, and deal with the exotherm but it is the easy/good way

Foam Density

Denser foams are more resistant to soaking up water; while lighter foams do soak it up.I think (not certain)10 pound foam is recommended for floatation - can anyone confirm or correct?Gord
