Stuffing box

Hi all,I am planning to repack my stuffing box but I have no documentation on my current model, which has a fitting (square bolt) at the back. Can anyone indicate to me what is that fitting for?

Water burp

By the looks of it, and what I can see of the tube, my guess would be to "burp" the stuffing box. This get water into the packing glands to cool/lubricate the packing.Same principal applies with the PSS system.If you are in the water back the bolt out and see if it starts leaking...this would confirm it.
