I have a 1989 (322) oday , and would like to know what size packing to use on the stuffing box . Thanks for your help. Michael

Most boats that size have a 1" shaft. They use either 1/4" or 3/16" packing. Many of us suggest you buy both, figure out the right one to use and "donate" the incorrect one to a friend or dockmate. Alternatively, you could measure the size (assuming you have any reasonable kind of access to your box).
Measure the Inside Diameter of the Stuffing Box and measure the OD of the Shaft. Subtract the two and devide by 2. That should be the size of the packing that you need. Consider Teflon impregnated Flax packing.
