The stuffing box nuts on my boat are not the six, flat sided nuts that is most common. See the attached drawing to get an idea of the shape of mine. I still used the pipe wrench and spanner wrench but found the spanner wrench slipped a little and I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a specific wrench for this type of nut.
