stuffing box repack

I have an 1985 Oday 26 inboard. What is the correct way to repack the stuffing box? How many wraps of material do I use and do I cut or NOT cut the material, 45 degree or straight?

yes, cut at a 45. you'll probably use the same amount of wraps as the old stuff you took out. maybe 3.

While it may be obvious - be sure to stagger the position of the cuts - otherwise there is a direct channel for water to seep through. Also if you can find it luse a teflon treated packing material
