stuffing box packing size for 1977 H27?

I just would like to know the packing size for my SB8 Yanmar shaft log on 27' Cherubini. Thanks! Any tips on getting the old stuff out?

Extraction tool

I forget the size, but you can get an extraction tool at any boating store. They look like a small, flexible corkscrew with a T-handle on the other end.DavidLady Lillie
