Howdy, 2 students/friends are in search of benevolence, to aid in education. We are hoping to find a boat that could use the extra energy found plentiful within us right now, something that needs fixing, even a lot of fixing, but has potential, even if that potential is far off in the distance. My name is Alex, and my friend is Davie, and we are in search of a project boat to work on between school and our jobs. Our budget is certainly limited, but our dedication is serious. We have found someone that will let use land to store it. If you have a boat like this, or can head us in the right direction, and want to help out a couple of students, Im sure the karma would be immense. Our hope is to eventually have a boat on the water, one that we knew personally from bow to stern, sailing to parts unknown. Thanks, Alex

I f you want a project boat

check on Ebay . There are many boats in La. that are in need of work. Check them out. It shouldn't cost too too much to get it to Ca. Then you have something in it and not be so quick to dispose of it. Keep looking and you'll find something. Keep it up, Ctskip

Go to your local marinas. Ask about

abandoned boats. In the little marina where we keep our boat there are at least six boats that have been on the hard for five years.

I agree with Ross -

I don't know if you have looked at all, but in the months I spent looking for boats, I probably could have had a couple dozen projects - it seems like every boatyard has at least a couple. We made an offer on a 1984 Oday 34 that had been on the hard for several years, and was finally sold for storage fees - around $3k if I remember right. Of course the current owner had put some money into it, and wasn't interested in passing any of his savings along to us so we had to find another one :)

title!!!!!title!!!! title.

if you get an abandoned boat from a marina make sure you get a clear title. you would'nt want to put a lot of work and money into a boat only to find out you could'nt get a clear title. no title, no deal. s/v Que Pasa?
