I have been trying unsuccessfully to remove the port-side eyebolt thru-deck fittings that the shrouds attach to. I need to re-seat them to keep out the water and get after a potential leak. The nuts are on too tight and even with a breaker bar they will not free up. Any thoughts.thanksDavid

Stainless will seeze and weld itself together at times, you may just have one of these times,  Get in there close with a drumel tool and cut the nut....from top to bottom. it will split and you should be able to turn it off....If not cut it off and order the new ones from Catalina Direct...

Hi There,Both of the replies I've read so far seem to be very appropiate.Just one finale thought.When threads of a bolt, any bolt are put under tremendous loads over time they will stretch, distorting.Thus when this happens it cannot possibly be unscrewed. This goes for any metal even stainless, and yes even though it is a harder steel then galvenized.So what appears to be welded together is in fact a distinct thread pattern change inside of the nut. The threads have in reality elongated. You will be able to see this once you cut the nut off with the dremmel tool.Hope this helps,Dave LaPere
