Throttle Cable Replacement
I just replaced both my throttle cable and shift cable in my Edson pedestal. According to the Edson people they said they expect the cable to have a usefull life of 12 to 14 years. A friend of mine has the same boat as I; an 88 Legend 37 and he replaced both his cables last year. His recommendation to me was if you are going to replace one you might as well replace the other at the same time.Call Hunter and they will tell you the exact length of the cables you need. Order your cables from Shoreway Marine (shorewaymarine.com); they were the least expensive place I found to get the cables. The biggest problem and hardest part of the installation, I found, was routing the cable through the pedestal. If Yachting Specialities is still in business, call them and they should be able to send you directions for replacing cables. The connection the the engine, if a Yanmar was straight forward. If you have specific questions you can Email me at rgbcmy@tiac.netGood luck.
