I've got a '90 Vision with jiffy reefing and outhaul line internally in my boom. My outhaul line is jammed ... totally immovable .... If I look in the exit hole for the outhaul line, I can see at least four runs of the line - therefore think that there are blocks at both ends of the boom where the outhaul is run. Is this correct? If so, if it's my blocks that are jammed, how in the world do you get into the boom to repair them??
Does anyone have any suggestions for "unsticking" the outhaul??

Thanks!

Ron

I just had to re thread the out/up haul on my h28.5 with Kenyon boom. What happened to me was the line's weaved outer sleeve had worn, separated and bunched up as you pulled the line from one end. there are rather tight end of boom castings with narrow holes to acept the lines. The escapement style jam cleat seems to be the culprit in chewing up/thru the weaved sleeve.

Short of separating the castings at the ends of the boom- You may need to find a small drain snake to wiggle its way into the line and try pulling it out after it tangles up- it is doesn't work on on end try the other.
