Hi all-

I'm pulling my injectors on a yanmar 3gm for long overdue servicing. I got the first two out (with some effort), but my third one is totally stuck. Anybody have a trick out there? Over 2 days, I have given it a healthy dose of carb cleaner and Kroil, I've tapped it a bunch, both lightly and not so lightly. I made a makeshift slide hammer and screwed it into the top. Nothing worked. I'm reluctant to turn it over and try and pop it out, as I've heard this can cause bigger problems. I'm fresh out of ideas, any advice would be appreciated

Seeing as you're on the verge of desperation, try chilling the injector with dry ice.

Remember that using any chilling or heating process relies on speed. All you can muster. Once everybody's at the same temperature, it's game over and time to let it all come down to equilibrium and start all over again.

I think R johnston means thermal shock right? That's heat then cold like ice or dry ice.

You could use a propane torch to heat the iron engine head. Maybe that would heat the area around the injector (don't heat the injector) and then put some ice on the injector that would break the seal.........

Or maybe. Just a thought. You could hold it with a wrench and tug it side to side just lightly, and then pull on it, until it comes loose.
