The water in our natural springs is 72F all year round ......and that is freekin COLD. Went to the beach Saturday and the water temp was 85.7F. Now that is tropical. A wet suit is just not my idea of beach attire.

The surface temp in the Estuary does reach 72° most summers but it doesn't stay there for very long. Usually a few weeks around late July/early August. In fact, it has already started dropping. I measured it the other day at 68°.

I'm at Bethany Beach, Delaware, and the ocean is a fridged 73 degrees. Irene is about to send us back home, so maybe the rain will warm the ocean ???
