strut specs for cal 29 1974

My original brass strut has broken. I am pulling my boat out and wanted to get the strut before I pull it. I don't want to be in dry dock for a lengthy expensive time while I have one fabricated. I was hoping my fellow cal owners may have a clue which brand or the dimensions of the strut used on the 1974 cal 2-29. The engine is an atomic 4 still running strong!Thanks,Jeff

Strut replacement

I replaced the entire drive train with components from Proper Pitch in Delaware. www.properpitch.com They will take good care of you.

cal227 strut

I replaced the strut on my @-27 with a unit from Buck-Algonquin. I think they may be original equipment suppliers. If you can't find them on the net, your local boatyard probably has a catalog.

Cal 2-29 prop shaft strut

Our Cal 2-29 had a one cylinder diesel engine (Faryman) which runs a bit rough. The strut broke coming into San Diego Bay. We hauled had the shaft realinged and the strut replaced with an oversized stainless steel one with extra strenghtening of the hull at that place and epoxied in.
