What is a strut?

Strut

to walk in a vain, stiff, swaggering manner. vt 1. to provide with a strut or brace 2. to make a display of; show off n. 1 the acting of strutting; vain, swaggering walk or gait 2. a brace fitted into a framework to resist pressure in the direction of its length. David: The strut is the piece(appendage) that holds the prop shaft in it's position. It is connected to the hull and the prop shaft runs through the other end of the strut.

Hunter or a prop shop

are my two ideas. Hunter has been helpful in putting my in contact with suppliers of equipment, although they seldom have drawings or documentation for our Cherubini boats. A favorite prop shop on this site is Bay Propellors in Alameda, CA. But I'd want to find someone closer for a custom fit job like this (if possible.) David Lady Lillie

Source

Here is a source to try: Dahmer Marine in New Jersey 732/264-5799 Tell them what boat you have and they will probably tell you what strut you need. This info is courtesy of Mr. Bob Howie (the ultimate strut bender)

David: Thanks for being a good sport. Getting old is a bitch, but it's better than the alternative.
