warren again, boat is a hunter 37 cutter not a 40.5 thank you for any help

Hi Warren, You can try Dahmer Marine in New Jersey. Might want to check for any markings on the old one as I believe there were three manufacturers for those years, but the Hunter folks might have some other suggestions. I know because I replaced mine for my 1984 37C.

I replaced mine...

when I replaced the engine. I have a 1983 37C and Dahmer Marine had the exact part. (They manufactured it for Hunter) Even the holes lined up. See if you can find my post last Octoberish with their name and address.
