Heading north for the show this weekend, never been there before. Anyone know how long it takes to "do the show"? Tom Monroe Carlyle Lake

Tom...it depends on the day. You'll find Friday to be a less crowded day that Saturday and Sunday. But you'll need one full day to cruise through it. We usually cruise one day, then head back a second day (maybe half day) to zero in on specific items. Has become somewhat of a tradition for us cold-bound northerners. Kind of like the first indication that there really is such thing as spring and summer. Speaking of cold, plan on it. Not certain about Chicago but up here in the Milwaukee area (90mi. north) They're predicting wind chills of -20 to -30 through the weekend. Some of it may extend south into northern Illinois.

They have single and 2 day tickets .....

You will need to buy a 2 day ticket package to get in twice (cheaper than buying 2 single day tickets). Also they are several good seminars that run every day and it's part of the admission fee. Check the link below. Richard

You have to eat.

FYI: Food within the hall tends to be of poor quality and is over priced. You would do well to take a fanny pack full of lunch and snacks. Also, be mindful of what kind of shoes you are wearing if you want to crawl around the boats. Slip on shoes are much easier to deal with.
