My O'Day 23 has been sitting on its trailer last summer (new baby boy April 19, 2006). The 2 x 12 that received the keel broke. The extra weight on the bed support cause a small stress fracture (14 inches long). I want to fix that soon but I need to figure out a way to lift the boat off its bed to gain proper access to the crack. I was going to put the boat in the water, put a new 2 x 12 to replace the broken one, pull the boat on the trailer again. The new 2 x12 should releive part of the stress that caused the crack. I was going to build a small platform to install a jack to lift the front of the boat a few inches. Will that work? Has any of you ever lifted a boat in this manner? Tx for your suggestion. Yves
