I am in the process of repairing some dings and cracks in the laminate on the inside of my 1959 O'Day Sprite. I have had some issues with cracking, especially around the aft end of he centerboard truck and on the starboard side over the years. I think it would be a good idea to take this opportunity to strengthen the bottom with additional layers of laminate (matt and cloth). I have the materials for the job, but have never done this extensive of fiberglass repair on one of my boats. I am trying to get all of the interior paint sanded off so I am down to clean laminate, but even with 40-60 grade paper, it is taking a long time. Has anyone done this kind of repair at this scope on one of our old O'Days? Any suggestions and/or advise would be helpful.
