I was finally able to get the Streamstay furling apart on my Hunter 40 after three attempts. Thanks to Randy Burns for the manual. This allowed me to check all the set screws. I had drilled them all out but a piece of one was stuck in there and that was stopping us from removing the bearing housing.
Now that this is done and with the housing at home, we can not get the bearings out. I can not believe that this thing even worked at the end of the season. It is a blessing that nothing broke. Just a little hard furling and unfurling the headsail. We are going to continue to try and get the bearings out just to look at the damage. However, I have decided not to rebuild.
Looking at replacing with a Harken or ProFurl. Does anyone have any suggestions on either?
