Anyone using straight talk Android while cruising the east coast?
I've seen the coverage map and it LOOKS pretty good except for the outer banks. But looks can be deceiving .
Thnx

no.

(these are pay as you go type phones)

I had a tracfone and currently have the Virgin mobile. the carrier is really sprint.

have not had any problems, but don't travel that much either.

The unlimited data and texting is hard to beat for 35/mo.... not the fastest, but good enough for me. (I have used it for wunderground and saltwater tides, but netflix is not great, audio and video not synced).

*I would really like a new razor, (amazing) but not going to pay 60+ a month... or 100+ for the iphone

-YMMV.

"straight talk" is the name of the Android App? Never heard of it. Could you clarify.

Used only Navionics or EarthNC for navigation or charts. Found both very good on Iphone or Android phone.

I'm on verizon.

I will say one thing, once you get a smart phone, you'll want a faster processor (phone).

I have the LG optima and its sloooow...

but gets the job done... and I do have phone envy... those razors and HTC's.... woah betty! ;)

Straight talk is a cell service reseller thru walmart.
You can get standard talk & text with verizon coverage (cdma) for $30 to $45/mo.
There are some phones that will put you on the att gsm network.
They also offer an Android plan that is on the T Mobile system. Their coverage map looks pretty good on the east coast for voice & data except downeast Maine & Outer Banks. But what is the reality?

It would be very nice to have an android phone/service for $45/mo with unlimited talk, text & "unlimited" data.
Straight talk even sells sim cards to put into unlocked gsm phones.

But it's hard to determine just how good these services are.
