Where do you other h23 sailors stow your hatchboards and loose equipment for prior to sailing knowing you'll have the boat heeled at least 15 deg and at times>30 deg. I have a hard time keeping stuff from banging around down below and rolling off shelves etc. Do you use cargo nets, velcro or ? :confused:Any ideas would be welcome!

I set everthing in the cabin sole that i'll be taking with me. The hatch boards i stand in their (slanted) ends in front of the step so that they sit sorta upright.

Yeah John,

It was lots of fun, but on the second lap I really got left in the dust!!!

I used the "iron sail" on the run in so I wouldn't keep my fellow racers waiting more than necessary at the club house. I'll remember to take my camera next time. I think I need some tips on racing.

I lay the boards on the V-berth - who goes up there anyway? They have not banged around so far. I like the idea of stowing behind the step, though.

Brad, I stow mine at the very front of my V berth. Its never moved even with the rail below water during my sons high wind sailing lesson. He panicked and kept pulling the main sheet straight back instead of down to release it. He got it right just as the boat was rounding up. I stow all the loose stuff in small plastic bins my gf found on the shelves. I think they measure 5" x 10" with 4 on each side in the cabin and 2 on each side in the V berth.
