Hello SBO Members,
From time to time I get the urge to record our boating adventures in the form of a poem. I add pictures when possible, and I hope to amuse those who read my work. My most recent poem describes some pre-launch work and the single handed trip from Safe Cove Boat Storage to Bokeelia, FL on the upper end of Pine Island. Poem attached.
Respectfully submitted, 31seahorse

Thanks, enjoyed that!! Great story and glad it had a happy ending.

I've made the journey out and through the lock now several times. Last spring I got lazy and spent $30+ on a remote from the home owner's association there to operate it.
Enjoy your winter sailing,

Sumner

Having T-Boned a daymarker during the DAY, I can say it's no fun. Luckily, it happened on our 16 footer and not the 37 footer.

We had set sail from the Army Hole Marina and were wing on wing. The Admiral was coiling lines when I turned around to wave god bye. And WHAM!!! Six inches either way and we would have just slid along the pole but no, had to hit it dead center on the bow. Busted all the pop rivets out of the gooseneck. We managed to get everything put back together so we could sail home.

An ordeal is an adventure with the right attitude.
