Seeking recommendations for storm tactics and equipment for a H29.5. I'm specifically interested in the best configuration to heave-to in winds over 50 knots and breaking seas over 10 ft. Since nearly every boat performs differently I am hoping someone out there has heavy weather experience with a H29.5 that they can share.
The options I'm considering include the following:
1. A 70 sq.ft. trysail in combination with a 8' para-anchor off the bow with a pennant line
2. Getting a 3rd reef for the main
3. Using a drogue off the stern
I'm open to any and all suggestions provided they provided satisfactory performance on a H29.5 or similar design.
Thanks, John
