I have just recently acquired a dinghy and motor. Has anybody found a convienent place to store a small outboard motor on a 29.5? I have the plastic motor mount from West Marine which lets you cary the motor on the stern rail; but the frame of my bimini takes up that available space. Any ideas? Thanks again, Jane

Hmmm! Looks like port rail to me.

But, I guess the stbd rail is the same.

Engine

We have a 1994 H29.5. We have a 6hp short shaft motor for the dink. We always run the engine dry, ie. unplug the fuel, and let it idle until it shuts down due to fuel starvation. We store it under our port aft seat. It fits perfectly and with the throttle folded it locks itself in place even on a hard heel. It has never leaked either. We feel this is the best place we could put it. Our bimini has hard post on the stern rail so we can't use the motor mount that is there. Good luck

Storing the outboard

Why clutter up the stern rails and get in the way with the stern rail seats? On SuSea Q we store our Johnson 4 hp in the stern lazzerete on the swim platform. I just slide the shaft in first , angle the head through the hatch and in she goes. The 3 gallon tank goes in as well. There are very few boats that have as much storage space as the 29.5
