storage compartment drain

recently purchased 1981 hunter 22. i noticed that the port aft storage compartment that lies opposite the outboard fuel tank compartment does not seem to have a drain to rid excess water. any thoughts - should compartment drain into bilge? any tips on creating a path to the bilge from this area? thankyou dpatrick

Shouldn't get water there.

I had a little water there when I purchased my boat. I did get a little one time when I dumped a full bucket of water to wash the seat off once. Mine stayes dry. I keep all kinds of supplies there that need to be dry. I would look for why you are getting water.
