I have just purchase a Catalina 27 with wheel steering and inbroad M18. My last boat was a Catalina 22 with an outbroad. I have read the owners manual and it states to stop the engine I am suppose to pull back the trottle untill it dies. This does not work and I must pull the lever up on the bottom aft of the control panel. It is not marked and I beleive it is the decompression lever which should only be used in an emergency only. This is how the last owner stop the engine but I am been told I need to adjust the throttle on the pedestal. What is the correct procedure? This there any good reference material anyone knows of about matainace on a mid size sailboat(seacocks, head repair, plumbing, wiring,etc....)
