stop leaking protlights

I am trying to stop the protlights leaking on my 1974 Oday 22. I have taken the inside aluminum frame cover off but have found no way to remove the rest of the portlight short of cutting it out with a chain say. How do you remove the protlights to re bed them? I have done this process with my Alberg 30 and have made it dry. Matt

Hey Matt, Not sure if the portlights are the same on a 23 as they are on a 22 but I would bet, they are the same style. My experience on '73 O'day 23 is that you can seal the frame to the boat but in acutuality the window leaks at the thin grey seal directly around the glass itself and especially where the frame seams are (2). Once you remove the screws from the inside, the portlights should come out unless some one used 5200. Outstanding sealant, but almost permanent! Good luck James
