Glad to see you are back; Where have you been James? After your love life tanked --- some men do stupid things.

I just came back from a Ford Dealership, looking at a Mustang. Interesting. Even though it has 2X+ the HP of my 4 cylinder Ranger, it's towing rating is only 1,000 lbs. Lack of a true frame is the limiting factor.

Well, I only tow my boat 2X a a year -- to & from my yacht club. So either I bum a tow from a friend, or rent a U-Haul truck with towing attachment

Yeah...2012 was sort of a crash & burn for me personally...
But the new year has opened new doors and life continues to be good!!

It would be sweet to have a chain locker on this boat.

The Admiral made me an anchor bag when I found the bottom had broken out of the tote the 5 KG anchor was in. Scroll right to see the bag in the image below.



Not much to look at but it's actually really nice. Double layer of heavy canvas with carry straps. The lid from the old tote is in the bottom and there are foam inserts to "stiffen" the sides when it's being carried. The handles go completely under, helping support the load, and there are 4 loops for tying it down. The outboard strap is just the right length to catch on top of the stanchion so it stays open while retrieving & flaking the anchor line. With the anchor strapped on the pulpit it lays flat(ish) and is pretty stable if you need to walk over it on the way forward.

Giving serious thought to having her make me a second bag for the bigger/heavier 7.5 KG anchor & chain. The totes are nice but awkward and won't fit in a locker.

One of the things that makes the Capri 22 association site special is that Patrick has made it a powerful and useful site. Great IT support makes a great place for owners to share ideas. This is a fine example. I'd argue it's easier to use than the Catalina 22, and 27 association sites.

I think the Cat25/250/Capri 25 association site is also excellently run, and easy to use. Truly 2 great models of how to get owners involved. Which is what the others are striving for. Catalina is VERY aware these sites exist, and does what they can to promote them.

So YES I am pretty ecstatic that the site is back as well! Nice work Patrick!

What I enjoy most about this site is that everyone keeps a focus on sailing and the Capri 22 (and an odd model now and then - all enjoyable). It has provided lots of technical information in a way that most people can understand it. Also, it does inspire people to do even more.

Remember, Patrick did have a donation link to help him defray the costs... (Hint)

It's interesting... I put my anchor box (milk crate) in the same place you put your bag.
(being able to attach it to the stanchion)
It looks like you hang the anchor on the pulpit? ...do you a bracket of some sort?
