Peggie, I have seen some references to using K.O. to freshen lockers and cushions. The cushions in our boat do have an odor due to a lack of ventilation (now hopefully corrected). I am not sure how to apply K.O. to them. Should it be diluted in water and then sprayed on liberally? Also, does it quit working as soon as it dries, or do I need to keep dampening the cushions for a while? Appreciate your advice. Allan

Smell Remedy...

Allan, When we board the boat for the weekend, we spray FreeBreeze on the cushions, and throughout the areas of the boat. It knocks out the stale air from having the boat locked up all week. I would be interested in how the K.O. is applied.... BP s/v The Regina Avery

Use K.O. undiluted...

in a trigger sprayer or pump-up garden sprayer. Saturate the cushions (not dripping wet, but damp all the way through). Put them out in the sun to dry completely...sunlight and fresh air are half the "treatment." You only have to do it once...the odor will not return unless conditions in the boat create the same condition that caused the problem in the first place.

When you resolve your initial problem a simple practice is to place laundry "fabric softener sheets" under cushions, etc. This will yield a fresh smell for quite a while.
