Stinky 2GM20F Yanmar

Recently acquired an '86H31 and on my Journey to home port, whilst steaming dead into a stiff wind, she sprung a leak in the fuel line between the fuel pump and injectors. Problem has since been fixed. Questions are: 1) all the engine compartment thermal/sound barriers got soaked with diesel and need replacing, any recommendations on where to buy this?; 2) how can I wash engine without runoff getting into bilge and going out to harbor?

PS: Wipe down your engine with Diesel Diapers.

The only good thing here is that the diesel fuel on the block will evaporate after a few hours at high temperature. Keep engine enclosure closed to keep the temp. up during that time.

James, unless I read the specs wrong, the product suggested by Kloudie is very different from your suggestion.
