Still Leaking oil from the reversing gear linkage(I think). Facts as I know them: 1. Leaks when running and not running in gear and out. 2. I check the fluid level every time prior to start up. The level is below the line on the dip stick (measured unscrewed). There is oil in the hallow portion of the stick if you look inside. a small bubble. Not facts: I think it's coming from the linkage where it enters the housing. My shop manual shows a seal there. Does the engine need to come out to change that seal? Hawaii dan

In addition to my post of 9/22, there is a seal in there, the job to change the seal is not hard and the engine doesn't have to be removed from the boat. You may still want to be sure of where the leak starts before you fix the wrong thing.
