Am I the only getting guy stiffed by Suzuki on the warranty for my Suzuki 9.9 outboard? I bought a 2000 model Hunter 260 that came with a Suzuki 9.9. The outboard had a six year transferrable warranty. I wrote Suzuki for the warranty card and thay wrote back saying I had to see a dealer. The Colorado Springs dealer gave me a form and said to send it to a Suzuki address. I get a letter from the Suzuki people telling me that I had to have the full written records of the maintenance service since the boat was new. Also, if I didn't have the information to them in a couple of weeks, the warranty was void. I believe these guys are trying to evade responsibility for the warranty. I know that this experience convinces me I don't ever want anything more to do with this company.

Bait and switch form Tohatsu as well
I bought my brand new Tohatsu 4-stroke 4hp this year based partly on their advertised three year warranty. When I get the motor and paperwork, everything says 2 years on it. I emailed Tohatsu and have never got a response. I've called and got voicemail, and no response. I know that as soon as I give up, the darn thing is going die the day after it's second anniversary

CDI Flexifurlers, too!
CDI's ads promise an unbelievable "Lifetime Warranty" on their furlers, but the written warranty that comes with it is for seven years. Still a great warranty, but not as advertised. The furler is great, BTW

Dan, I don't have any engine problems right now. My problem concerns the six year transferrable warranty from Suzuki. So far they have a large number of reasons why they will not transfer the warranty to me although it still has fours years to go.
