Stiff head diverter valve

My "Y" diverter valve that diverts waste to either holding tank or overboard is a real bear to turn. I've taken it apart and lubed up the rubber seals with waterproof lube, but its still tough. Any suggestions or help? The valve is standard Hunter issue (1998).Thanks,Bob F.

Bob, tell me

Where is the through-hull discharge located. I want to install one on my '98 and would appreciate some advice on a specfic location. Peggie will most likely have the best advice but you could remove the hoses and try Super Lube in the valve surfaces. The "O" ring for the lever may also be the culprit.

The outboard discharge (thru-hull) is under the head sink next to the sink drain thru-hull.
