I have a 1986 C-22 that has developed a tight rudder board. I have taken the rudder off and can't figure out how to get it lubricated to get it to travel freely again. Any ideas?

Do you have the 3/8 gudgeons and pindles? I had to replace mine something got between them and caused them to gall. I replaced them with the new 1/2" C/D offers, they also have a delrin bushing. If you decide to make the swtich use two pieces of 1/4" all thread rods to hold the drilled bronze plate behind the top one. If you let it fall your in for a all day project.

Could the Pintle Pins be bent?
Chris: Could one of the pins on your rudder be bent? I think that the pins on your rudder are bigger in diameter than those on mine. ut, if one is bent, this could make it bind. I lube mine with automotive grease stick that has teflon in it. I do think that the delrin bushed gudgeons are a good idea. I had thought of making something like this myself for years, but would now just purchase them instead. I guess you can still use your boat this time of year where you live. Aldo
