I used Super Lube spray on my sliding hatch and it made it a world of easier. However before I used it I called Hunter and they told me to use a teflon tape but it would mean taking the hatch off. Locals call it millionaires tape because it is quite expensive. You can also use the Super Lube on your sail tracks and main sail track. Don't use too much.

Hatch sticking can be caused by several factors. You have to determine where the hatch is sticking and fix the problem. I replaced the rubber bumpers on the aft end of the hatch (generic rubber stoppers from Lowes) and made them a bit oversize to lift the lid over the hatch. I also raised the hinges in the front by shimming the hinge with piecse of sheet rubber. This was the biggest help, as the piece of wood attached on the forward part of the lexan (which prevents the lexan from sliding all the way aft on closing) would rub against the cover during the final third of travel. I also glued strips of "fuzzy" side velcro to the rails and let the lexan slide on that. All together, these mods make operation a finger-tip experience.
