Sticky Forespar pole

Hi everyone, I have a question. We have two Forespar telescoping poles on our Hunter 34. One is a very smooth operating pole. The other is a fight telescoping out or retracting. Has anyone had this problem? More importantly, does anyone have the solution? I looked quickly at the Forespar site, but, they did not have an online forum or FAQ that could help.

Soak in fresh water to loosen up dried deposits- like salt. Do NOT lubricate it.

Teflon spray, if you can find it.

Inspect for bends, and dents.

DO NOT use Teflon spray, or any other lubrication, as Ron20324 said. It will never stay locked after that. Flush with lots of fresh water, and if that doesn't work, Forespar sells lock repair kits for a reasonable price. Look at the website for those.

Watkins Glen is in the Finger Lakes which is fresh water so salt is not going to be a culprit.

Thanks Ron and everyone else. I will try fresh water prior to other ideas. The pole in question is in good shape, no dents or bends. By the way, there is salt at Seneca Lake. My wife says I use too much of it!!
