Has anyone switched to a end boom mainsheet with an aft traveler? I am wondering about a traveler, specifically a harken windward sheeting traveler, but not in the middle of the cockpit. Presently i have to use my foot to release the mainsheet quickly because my wife does not enjoy heeling with gusts even though i have changed the block as much as possible. I wish i could raise the lower block to seat level like the hunter traveler, but don't want to split the cockpit. And i want to get a traveler to better trim the main. My concern is if the mainsheet coming from aft will be harder to control. Also any experience with the harken windward sheeting traveler car? I would appreciate any advice.

What kind of boat?

What kind of boat and set up do you have now? I have had end boom sheeting befor and they were not a problem after you get use to them. I sail a H22 now and have a travler set infront of the companion way. I used an eigth inch cable to rase my block up to a better release angle.

I have a H216 daysailer

which has a traveler option splitting the cockpit in half that i don't want to do. I like the cable idea a lot, so I'll try that while i think about the traveler. Thanks, Dan
