Stern Rail Seats

I see that you can buy stern rail seats for a Hunter 285 on this web site for around $200 a pair. However, from what I can see on my boat the split back stays would be in the way and I'm not about to move them! Am I seeing this right or am I missing something? If I'm right then why sell them here if they won't work? (A rhetorical question.)

Split back stay

I have a 335 with the split back stay and the stern seats. The seats partially wrap the stay and the protruisions form the cup holder. The seats are a little inboard but do not interfer with the walk through transom. I love the seats and the back stay gives a handhold.

Need a photo

Thanks Bill! Wish I could see a set on a Hunter 285 or a photo of one. I know I can return the things if they don't work out but returning something is always a pain.

Seats

The pain of possible returning them is worth it. Since putting ours on I can't imagine the boat without them. THe view is awesome, they are comfy, and with guest they are almost never unused.

Same for the '90 h28

I'm with you Bob. I also have the slit Y backstay and cannot see the stern rail seats working. If I could see a photo I would buy them. Or if another with the same make/model/configuration could tell us thier success story with them.

You can buy those here, too

In fact, they're on sale thru the 30th. Very same seats you'll find at sail2000. ph.
