Has anyone with a 1994 hunter 26 WB added stern rails and seats and if so how did they go about doing this? We love our boat but this would make it that much more enjoyable. Would love to hear from other owners about any other mods that they have made and would recommend. Thanks and happy sailing.

Added SternPerch seats to my H27 last year, and they were worth every penny. Highly recommend them, and they are ON SALE to boot. The company does a great job with the custom ordering.

If only it were that easy! Our boat has no stern rails so we need to install seats and rails after market. We are toying with the idea of having them fabricated at a local stainless steel shop however they would require a template to go by.

Your Milage may Differ

That was probably 7 years ago and the price may be higher for the 26. I am sure they would be happy to have the work.

Good Luck, show us pictures when your done.

Stern seats

I paid $650 about 5 years ago from Hunter for my 1995 Hunter 26. In order to install the seats you either need to have aluminum plates already glassed in place on the inside of the hull or you will need to do that yourself. When I ordered the stern seats for my Hunter 26, Hunter asked me for the manufacturing number because they started glassing aluminum plates in the proper locations for the seat attach points at a certain date. Luckily mine had the plates installed so it was a matter of drilling and tapping. I would call Hunter and find out if yours has the plates. I can tell you that even though the seats were made by Hunter, there were lots of adjustments that had to be made to make them fit, not a surprise when you are trying to match large stainless steel pieces and a 10 yearr old fiberglass boat. I'd still buy them from Hunter rather than have someone else make them.

I Doubt the Plates are There

If I remember right they started to put them in somwhere in the 1995 run. Mine did not have them and Hunter sent them to me so the project tool a while longer. Be sure to ask for them when you order the seats.
