Has anyone used the Stern Rail Seats that Hunter sells? What is your opinion? Does the preformance of a 1993 Hunter 28 differ from the earlies Hunter 28 models, going back to 1990? Has the stern rail feature changed the performance of the new models?

But seriously, we have a '93 H28 and this is our second season with her. She came with the stern rail seats that the newer boats have. We haven't raced her, but she is a very responsive boat and we often "beat" other 28 to 32 footers when we "race" them out on the lake. Granted, they may not know we've picked their boat to race, but she is quick. This boat is very comfortable for us as a cruising couple, and our friends love to perch out of the way and watch for traffic for us. If we didn't have the stern rail seats, she would be a lot more crowded and uncomfortable with six people which is not an uncommon crowd for us to have. FYI: According to HOW, the stern rail seats are not available for the older Hunter '31s. Too bad.

Stern Rail Seats - 1992 H-28
I installed a pair of stern rail seats (purchased from the HOW website store)on my 1992 H-28. They attach to the lower rail,and they are an outstanding addition to the comfort of the cockpit. It took a bit of fiddling to get them right, but I use them as seats when they are in the raised position and backrests when folded down. I can give more installation details if needed.
