been there, done that
Gentlemen, you are correct the H23 could use a stern rail, especially if you sail salt water or large lakes. (Great Lakes)I've researched this for two years, looked up articles in archives, some of my responses are still there. It depends on how much rail you really need. I don't believe a C 25 rail will fit.You could call (714) 642-6506 Railmakers and have one made.I recently purchase a pair or Capri 22 stern rails, $54 ea. one port one starboard, yes there is a difference in port and starboard angle of the decksI attached the existing life lines and made one for across the stern. These fit very well and required only a small modification in the angle of the forward bases. use a large hammer. works great. don't forget to use plenty of bedding and a backing plate. You could go to any Catilina dealer and see the rails of the Capri 22 they do work! while you are there pick up the Catilina 22 rudder washers very large aluminum washers and bolt assembly grind down the little nob on onw of the washers, they work well on the kick up rudder of the H 23 and are very easly to adjust tension on bolt. the one nut is really a handle.Good safe sailingRon
