What are the advantages/disadvantages of a stern pulpit?Can one be added?

Dan - You could add a pulpit to your boat. It might increase security by holding people in the boat and would give you a place to mount antenna and grills and such. I wouldn't do it though - I'd think it would be constrictive on your boat.Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Do It!

I respectfully disagree. As stern pulpit adds lots to any boat. With it you can extend the lifelines all the way to the transom. You can use it for many additional things, grill, dinghy outboard bracket, tie off for awnings, etc. I don't understand why O'Day didn't offer it as an option. I'm building one from scratch with parts from West Marine. My 22 looks like a 30 footer, perhaps overkill but comfortable for me.Gene
