In the picture with the yellow wire, what is the slightly lower exit hole on the right? It has a 1.5 i.d. hose on it that goes into the port sail locker where it's roughly cut off. The other exit holes are accounted for: Engine exhaust, cockpit drains. Anybody know? C30 1978.

It's got that white smooth really heavy/strong
hose on it, so I don't think it's an exhaust.
It comes into the sail locker over a foot
from the bottom, so probably not a
passive drain. Thanks for the responses.

No evidence of sealed propane locker anywhere.
Could be just for airflow. Seems that any stuff
put in that locker could easily lean against it and
shut it off. It's also cut off roughly, like the PO tore
something out.

I have 5 fitting on our 78'.
2 lower glassed in are the cockpit scuppers.
Starboard 1.5" transom fitting goes to auto bilge pump
Centerline 1.5" exhaust from motor.
Port 1.5" manual bilge pump. The hose runs from the pump located inside of the forward bulkhead of the sail locker roughly near engine control panel (you have to insert handle and pump it by reaching into the locker).
On ours the hose runs from bilge to pump then from pump aft to fitting via under the quarter berth.
A previous owner had put a y valve on this and was using the pump to drain the poo holding tank.
My guess is something similar to this is what happened in the past to your boat. That white hose is a waste type hose.
I put in some new bilge pump hose and it works as designed, I do want to find a better location for the pump. I like were yours is, hmmm.

I think you nailed it. It was probably the
holding discharge. I have a C-head. The
starboard cockpit drain has 2 T's into it for
the bilge pumps. Don't really like that
set-up, so I may change them to discharge
out that now extra hole. Tough to work
in that space through that little hole, though.

wiring and extra stuff there used to be with a
macerator and holding tank and other stuff. I've
gotten rid of lots of extraneous stuff. That hose
was just sticking out into space. I've since
capped it off but it's still there. Next haulout

how sure are you guys that you have a holding tank vent above the waterline and if it came from the factory like that? my '91 sure doesn't.
Vent; When did Catalina quit using the 'hole in the stanchion' type of vent in the '30?
I definitely have a vent, and it's right through the center of the stanchion. Easy to see the vent hose going up through the 'vanity' top.
