I cannot fathom that you are unable to find storage room for a secondary anchor in a 37' boat. I used Parkinson's Law in an email earlier this morning and it seems relevant here:
“Your belongings will expand in order to fill all of the storage space (time, money, space ) that you have available.” Use that space wisely.
This thread was started a while back when I had a different boat. I do now carry two anchors, a Mantus on the front and the original Delta that came with the boat in the lazarette. I have not had the boat long enough to fill up all the available space, but working on it!

I wouldn’t allow myself to lay beam to the seas for long, if at all.
The only time I've used a stern anchor was in the SVI with and east wind and a north swell...we deployed the anchor to keep the bow in to the swell, the wind was enough to keep the boat pointed east but not enough to generate any measurable wind waves. Slept great that night but could barely dig the big Fortress out of the sand in the morning.
