I also like to do stereographic (3D) images. Mostly red/blue anaglyphs and cross-eyed type images. Any more of you out there?

Count me in

I recorded the super bowl game so that I could check out the 3-D commercials without having to watch all that football. The one where the live action and animation was mixed was incredible.

You might also get a kick out of the stereo pairs of arial photography the are used in photogrametry. They are available from USGS. It takes a special viewer which is much like the old style viewers that were popular in the early 20th century. I guess that lead to the "Viewmaster" which I think was produced by Matel back in the 50's.

Off on a tangent

have you heard of the concept of "stereocity" not to be confused with stereo city. It was a concept raised in an old science fiction book that I read years ago, not sure which one. It sounds like something that Douglas Adams would have come up with.

Here is my best attempt at explaining it. If two stereo speakers can produce a mixture of sound that appears to come from between and out in front of the speakers and a stereo pair of photos can appear to leap off the flat plane of the photo. is it possible for the two side of our brain to project our awareness to another location?

Come to think of it, that sounds a bit like something that Carlos Castenada might have written.

Gotta go now the acid is wearing off.
