Has anyone replaced the stereo on a hunter 40 (1986). The stereo that I have is a three part unit located in the electrical control station over the nav station. I can't find a stereo to fit the dimensions for the exist stereo. The thing is to narrow. If you have changed to a new stereo, what did you do about the opening in the electrical control station.

on my Vision 32 was to make a bezel from 1" teak and 3/8 dark plexiglass to cover up the larger hole of the factory stereo and give more depth to install a standard automotive sized unit. I finished the teak to match and had the plexiglass beveled to give a finished OEM look. Rick D.

be sure to avoid those overpriced "marine" stereos. just get a plain car system from some place like best buy and be sure to get the extended warranty. when the wet, salty air kills it you get a new one free (I'm on my 5th in 3 years!) PS...don't mention that its in a boat!
