Stepping the Mast

I have a H 36 new to me this summer which I have been sailing on Lake Champlain. We are thinking of taking it South this Fall down the Hudson River. Anyone out there with some basic advice on stepping the mast? For those who have done it, what have you used to secure the mast on deck while it is down?

With all due respect your mast is 55'+ tall, get a crane!

Yes, I absolutely plan to use a crane----I was just looking for other misc. advice including what to do with the mast once it is on deck.
