So... where's the coffee?
We had an episode like that in three or four different harbors on Ireland's east coast, hunting ice for the icebox. Ended up getting a 10kg block of frozen scallops instead.

Stepping out for a coffee Live in hope. Die in despair. The sail back made up for it.

Uh, where are you? What's the story of the village? I guess it would make sense if the viewer has been following your channel, but I don't, so I'm clueless. Thanks for the effort. Looked like a fun day.

Hi Joe.
Yeah I guess it is a little confusing.
I am based in Shiogama city in Miyagi prefecture Japan.
That is about 375 kilo north of Tokyo on the North East coast.
You can check these places out on Google map if you have a mind to.
My boat is in Toguhama Miyagi.
I sail in Matsushima bay in Miyagi.
And the video is of a trip east to Oshiko peninsula.
The coffee shop is in a little village called Hamaguru.
This whole area is deep inlets with villages or towns at the head of the bays.
Industry is fishing and aquaculture (oysters, scallops seaweed etc.)
When the 2011 tsunami hit almost every place for 300 kilo up the coats was wiped out.
Now they are empty lots of overgrown land.
A very few people have returned and rebuilt (the stubborn oldies), but in general people have moved to higher ground and abandoned the villages. This village probably had twenty houses, now there are two.
However, all of the port facilities are there. There is a little port like this one every 20 miles up the coast.

Wow! Gary, thanks for the response. That is so interesting. I can imagine a tidal surge funneling into that little cove... must have been frightening. Good luck, keep posting.
